58: Search Engines From the Future with Christi Olson

Christi Olson and I met recently at the MnSearch Summit, where we both spoke at the June event. I’m not sure that she has had a chance to rest ever since. We recorded this podcast after she flew coast to coast in a span of 24 hours. That’s dedication!

When she said she would like to join on the podcast, I did one of those happy dances that you see in most 1980’s teen movies. Fortunately no tapes exist of my alleged dance. The only tapes that exist are my conversation with Christi. And I’m going to give those to you in their entirety.

I am so excited to get to our conversation with Christi, because our conversation covered the past, present and future of search. We covered a lot of ground in our conversation: voice search, artificial intelligence and the role that marketers play in their future. The amount of progress that has happened just in this decade is tremendous. And it’s only going to get bigger from here.

Let’s get into our candid conversation with one of the most ambitious people in the world of search.
